One of the most popular images used in body art designs today has to be the legendary dragon tattoos however there are different depictions of this creature, which offer contrasting symbolism depending on what part of the world you are in. In the Far East, it is the magical Asian dragon which is a symbol of prosperity and good fortune while in the western world their version is associated with evil and destruction. These were depicted as frightening, giant lizard-like creatures with scales and leathery looking wings while their Eastern counterparts were much more benevolent in both appearance and nature. They do not have wings either and have long bodies that resemble a snake, with brightly colored whiskers and vivid manes.
